The movie Bridal gown is not a story with a quirky twist, but we are greatly moved by the love between mother and daughter.
In the movie, the mother tells that her daughter is the best gift that God gives to her. But to the daugther, isn’t her mother the best gift that God gives to her? At the end of the movie, we have the answer of this question. Yes. The answer is definitely yes that mother is the best and greatest and most beloved gift that the daughter receives from god for the mother has loved her daugther with all things she has, her soul, her power and her short life.
Mother is an unfortunate woman in the movie. When she was young, she left her family and married the man she loved. Her marriage received no blessing from her family and she didn’t have a bridal gown on her wedding day even though she herself was a designer of bridal gowns. Things went worse when her beloved husband died. But she was not defeated by fate because she had her dear daughter stood beside her.
Looking at her daughter, the angle from heaven, she feels that this baby girl is her great comfort. She has no reason to give up life for the reason that she is a mother and she must live with and for her daughter. The mother and daughter live a happy life and they make so many moments of their life sweet and unforgettable. Unfortunately, bad luck haunts the mother again. She is diagnosed to have cancer and her life of time leaves not much. How unbearable it is! She can’t believe she has such a bad fate. Her daughter is still a child and she needs her to lean on. But she has no choice but accept the fact that she will die some time later. She has no much time to be sad about her fate but has to devote all her left time to training her daughter, making sure she can be independent and lives by herself. She also decides to make a bridal gowns for her daughter. Since it is regret that she has no chance to attend her daughter’s wedding, she must do something that her daughter can feel that she is around her on her wedding time. And a bridal gown is the best choice to express her devotion for her daughter’s marriage. She teaches her daughter to do a lot of regular things and prepares her to be familiar to the life without her mother. In the end, she dies. We watch her leaving the world with tears in our eyes, sighing what a good mother she is! We also cry for the daughter who is heartbroken by her mother’s death but still tries to be strong and misses her mother in her own way, a child’s way of imaging that her mother will turns up again. Maybe things are not so bad. At least, she has a bridal gown from her mother.
Bridal Gown is really an awesome movie of death, of love, and of life.
