I was sure I loved Joe a lot. That’s the reason why I accepted his propose. Two months before our wedding day, we had started preparing all the things. I bought three suits of bridal gowns, making sure I was the most beautiful woman in the wedding.
The day before my wedding day, I felt nervous all day along. I couldn’t concentrate on my work and made several stupid mistakes. My manager Ella was so unsatisfied with me that she warned me seriously, “Sofie, wedding is wedding and work is work. If you think about your wedding in your work, then your work will discrimate you and asks you to leave.” Thank god tommorrow I would not work or I would make more mistakes. In that way, my wedding would ruin my work competely. I knew why I was so abnormal today. I was afraid of my marriage. I was so frightened that I wondered whether it was a good idea to marry Joe. Certainly, Joe was a good man. But who could promise that he would be a good man forever. And I didn’t wanna lose my freedom as a single woman. I had my friends and if I gave birth to the children of Joe, I would stay at home and accompanied the children all day. Oh, what a horrible life.
After work, I came back home. Looking at my bridal gowns, I couldn’t help thinking how beautiful they were. When I put them on the first time, Joe was astounded by my beauty. He touched my hair softly and murmuring “thank you”. I laughed at his foolishness for he should tell me that he loved me not speak thanks to me. A thanks was so weird for a marring couple. Should I call Joe and tell him that I was not gonna marry him? Or should I call him out and tell him my fear face to face? This was a difficult question and I really had no idea what to do now. Maybe I should tell mum my fear. So I called her.
“Ma?” my voice was a little abnormal.
“Sweetie, what’s wrong?”Mum asked.
“Do you think you are happy with dad?” I decided to change my question at a moment.
“Urn,” mum paused for several seconds, “yes, sweetie. I am very happy with your dad.”
“But you have four children and you often complain about dad.” I was confused by my mum’s answer.
“But your dad is a grateful man and he tresures me a lot, in a way you can’t see.”
“OK, I understand.” I put down the phone and understood Joe’s thanks to me. Yes, he was the one to me. And the day after tommorrow, I would put on my bridal gown and be the bride of my dear Joe.
